The decision to be in therapy is an act of bravery and hope.

People entering therapy need to feel heard and understood. Therapy provides a safe, validating relationship in which to gain insight, foster strengths, and develop the coping skills needed to manage difficult emotions, relationships, and life circumstances. Effective therapy is not only about talking about your struggles. It is also about actively working towards solutions for the things you can change and accepting the things that are beyond your control. Gaining understanding about yourself empowers you to have confidence and a sense of mastery. Ultimately, the goal of therapy is to help you deal with the inherent highs and lows of life with a greater sense of calm and confidence so that you can grow and thrive.

My practice is based on my belief in the fundamental strength and resilience of the human spirit, and is driven by my desire to help others in their movement towards growth, health, and well-being. My approach to therapy will be specific to your goals and needs, and collaborative in nature. I am committed to utilizing evidence-based psychological techniques that have been well-researched and shown to be effective. Through individual and group work, I incorporate mind-body techniques using positive psychology , cognitive behavioral and acceptance and commitment therapies , biofeedback and mindfulness , Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) , hypnosis , and other mixed interventions aimed at self-care and increased distress tolerance. These methods are proven strategies to treat and overcome anxiety, addiction, depression, chronic pain, eating disorders, stress, and trauma.

Together in therapy, we will explore the thoughts, feelings, themes, and behaviors that undermine you and keep you stuck. We will uncover the unexamined feelings and beliefs that lead to the experience of painful symptoms. We will increase awareness of the behavioral patterns that once protected or served you, but now diminish connection to self and others.
